Added 5/08/06 - Spoilers through Season 2Let me start off by saying that I never (emphasis on the "never") thought I'd make an Ana-Lucia vid. I disliked her character from the start and I disliked the idea of Michelle Rodriguez coming into the show. In typical Lost fashion though, I've actually grown to like her character and I actually felt bad about her murder. As I saw the episode, I kept thinking of the same Beatles song over and over - "Happiness is a Warm Gun." It's an incredibly passionate and sexual song written by John Lennon with Yoko Ono in mind. Brimming with double entendres ("when I hold you in my arms/ and I feel my finger on your trigger"), the song gave me a perfect opportunity to capture that wild aspect of Ana's character. Coming into the vid, there were two key scenes that I was looking forward to incorporating: Ana-Lucia and Sawyer's jungle boogey and Michael's final shooting. I think that overall everything fell into place pretty well. I also wanted the vid to be exclusively about this one episode (season 2 - ep. 20: "Two for the Road"); so while I could have incorporated clips from others episodes, I wanted this vid to stand on its own and only tell one episode's story. This is my fastest video to date as it took me about three days to complete (thanks to an unflinching muse). It was edited in Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 and xvid compressed in VirtualdubMod.
